Why do knife technology and design matter to your business?
What’s so special about ASKO’s materials and design?
Ask ASKO: Why do knife technology and design matter to your business?
The way a knife is designed and manufactured has a lot to do with how it
performs in extreme conditions and even in routine day-to-day use.
High-quality engineering and proprietary material grades result in knives
that perform appropriately for your application.
ASKO has always produced its blades from the finest quality wrought (rolled
or forged) tool steels, designed by our own in-house metallurgical staff.
ASKO has never produced blades from castings, a sub par product that can
fail and shut you down.
Ask ASKO: What’s so special about ASKO’s materials and design?
ASKO is a pioneer in the development of improved grades for scrap shear
blades; our Titan II scrap shear blade is the industry leader for
performance in both toughness and wear resistance. The tool steels used in
ASKO scrap yard knives are designed from the very start for one purpose—the
demanding needs of the scrap metal, demolition and waste recycling
industries.
ASKO strictly controls the chemistry of our steel grades, has them melted in
heat lot quantities, and manufactures its blades from scratch. We produce
scrap shear blades and perform heat treatment in our own manufacturing plant
in the USA. ASKO is certified to ISO 9001-2000 and scrupulously maintains
quality control over the heat treatment of blades and the machining and
grinding processes, ensuring each blade is the correct hardness and the
correct dimension, every time. We’re so committed to a superior product, we
created a special guarantee to cover it.
